The Roman Catholic Diocese of Daru-Kiunga
PFP support and enhance the operations of existing organisations working with remote communities in PNG. PFP are pleased to announce that the organization we are currently supporting is the Roman Catholic Diocese of Daru-Kiunga in the Western Province of PNG.
The Diocese has been working tirelessly for over 50 years to support and empower villages throughout the region with the mission of unifying and fostering good relationships between people, and bringing positive change to their lives. Numerous health and education programs have been established in both villages and towns, and further programs are currently being designed and implemented.
Examples of the Diocese’s operations include family services, HIV awareness programs, disability care, an ear and eye clinic, leadership programs, services to refugees, various training and capacity building courses, opening and operating schools and technical colleges etc.
PFP can’t speak highly enough about the selfless effort of all involved with the Diocese and the life changing outcomes that are being achieved.
They have no government support and money to fund the great work they are doing is generated from several sources including donations from a sister Diocese in Canada, income from farms and plantations (which they employ local people to manage) and various other funding agencies.
